Where Creativity Meets Innovation 		I got the opportunity to do some minor configuration on a network that is using FLOW and I realize that all client computers are receiving public IP addresses from the gateway (FLOW modem).

Any can confirm whether this is true? :??:

Where Creativity Meets Innovation 		I actually get the chance to work on a FLOW network and I realize that all computers on my network receive a public IP address.

This now make the computer more accessible from the net. i will be doing some more testing with their modem to see what it is like.

actually sir...the public address you are getting come from the DHCP server at HQ...Kingston. The modem merely acts as a bridge

Where Creativity Meets Innovation 		I'm sure you are not telling me that, who is your ISP? My first ISP was LIME now i'm using FLOW.

I know both of the network quiet well.

Where Creativity Meets Innovation 		Moving to FLOW is one of my biggest move. Same IP for over a months now. I can host my site comfortably without worrying about my IP changing.

LIME change ur IP so often even if the light goes and come back or the moden restart. Poor

LIME have sense....It was because of this very same thing....ppl use the IP address as an almost static address. What LIME did was to set the IPs to rotate very often.

FLOW must have bought a big bundle of IP addresses

Where Creativity Meets Innovation 		Buying a lot of IP have nothing to do with that bacause they dont know when and how much person will be using the internet at the same time.

Makes no sense changing ip so often. more difficult to track users and a mean dem mean, all for themself, its not all about money

Its not all about the money for you but get this.
If you were marketing manager at FLOW, you would tell technicians that they need to develop a way that removes the possibility of customers to use the IP address that  is issued as a publicly accessible address or domain or service.

Your technicians would off course shorten the lease time and get the different ip addresses to shuffle.

Where Creativity Meets Innovation 		Why, give people the chance to use it man. Its not static, i'm sure it the moden is reset then definately u going to get a new ip so its not a problem to issue ip this way.
